ETHNIC STREETS IN THE WORLD　

・Oizumi town, which is situated in Gunma prefecture, is located 100km from
　Tokyo.

・In 1990, a change of immigration rules gave Brazilian-Japanese and Peruvian-
　Japanese permission to work freely in Japan.Oizumi town aggressively
　encouraged them to come to their town to solve the shortage of labour
　there.

・Eventually, the number of registered foreigners there, marked the highest
　rate in whole of Japan.

・Ethnic shops haven't formed an ethnic street yet. Currently, there are some
　estate agencies, a job centre, a grocery store, a clothing shop, and a tattoo
　shop scattered along main street.

・The flow of immigrants change depending upon the economic situation
　between Japan and south America. This, in turn, affects the number of
　ethnic shops that are open for business in the area.
